Job Description

The Instrumentation & Control Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems in the refinery. The role ensures plant safety, reliability, and efficiency by keeping field instruments, analyzers, and control systems in optimal condition.

Qualifications (applicants could be any of the following):

  • Electronics techicnian
  • Electronics Engineer
  • NC2 or NC3 certified personnel with background in instrumentation and control maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and configure field instruments including pressure, flow, temperature, level transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems (PLC, DCS, and SIS).

  • Conduct loop checks, function tests, and commissioning of instruments during projects and shutdowns.

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and resolve issues using P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring drawings.

  • Perform calibration activities, maintain calibration records, and ensure compliance with ISO/QA/QC standards.

  • Support turnaround/shutdown activities including instrument overhauls and upgrades.

  • Maintain instrumentation tools and test equipment (multimeters, calibrators, communicators) in proper working condition.

  • Ensure compliance with refinery safety procedures (Permit to Work, LOTO, confined space, hot work, hazardous area standards).

  • Provide support to operations for maintaining plant availability and reducing downtime.

  • Document all maintenance activities in logbooks and instrument history records
