Our Role
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for improving asset reliability, reducing equipment downtime, and ensuring disciplined implementation of the maintenance work management system. The role provides technical leadership in maintenance planning and scheduling, reliability improvement, root cause analysis, bad actor elimination, PM/PdM optimization, critical spare parts management, and maintenance performance improvement programs.
- Lead the governance and continuous improvement of maintenance work management processes, ensuring high-quality planning, scheduling, execution, and asset history records.
- Drive equipment reliability and asset performance initiatives through data analysis, risk assessment, and collaboration with operations and engineering teams.
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures, recurring breakdowns, and production losses, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and implement strategies to eliminate chronic equipment issues (Bad Actors), reducing downtime, maintenance costs, and operational disruptions.
- Optimize Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) programs, leveraging condition monitoring techniques and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
- Manage critical spare parts strategies, inventory reliability, and supplier coordination to ensure equipment availability and minimize stock-out risks.
- Monitor and report maintenance performance through KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, schedule compliance, backlog health, downtime, and budget performance, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and integrated management system requirements, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, risk management, and safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate superior.
The successful candidate will have a qualification of BS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in heavy industry, mining, cement, lime, minerals processing, manufacturing, or similar operations. A strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling, RCA, downtime analysis, PM/PdM optimization, spare parts management, KPI reporting, and reliability improvement tools .
