The MRT7 Project at a Glance

The MRT7 is a 22-kilometer rail and road system extending from North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Designed to be a backbone of northern metropolitan transit, the project features 14 strategically placed stations, including Quezon North Avenue Joint Station, University Avenue, Batasan, and San Jose del Monte.

Once fully operational, the MRT7 is engineered to support a massive daily capacity of up to 650,000 passengers, offering a faster and more seamless travel experience for the commuting public.

About the Role:

The rationale and purpose behind the existence of this position is to act as the frontline technical operational link between the Operation Control Center (OCC) and maintenance teams during mainline operations. The Fault Control Engineer actively logs, diagnoses, and coordinates the immediate resolution of E&M and Facility (MEPF and Architectural) faults across the MRT-7 system. This role ensures minimal operational downtime, enforces safety standards, logs asset movement in the MMS, and performs root-cause analysis to support RAMS, predictive maintenance strategies, and KPI attainment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Capture, log, and classify E&M and Facility system faults during revenue operations in coordination with OCC operators, station staff, and maintenance teams.
2. Dispatch Quick Response Teams (QRT) with preliminary diagnostics and direct immediate recovery actions according to safety standards and operational manuals.
3. Conduct technical evaluations and root-cause analyses on equipment failures to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues.
4. Prepare detailed incident investigation reports, non-compliance documentation, and system availability analyses for management review.
5. Work alongside RAMS and Engineering teams to track recurring failure modes and improve overall system reliability and maintainability.
6. Record real-time fault logs, Work Orders (WO), system downtime, and resolution entries into the Maintenance Management System with zero update lag. Document field workarounds, analyze technician field logs, and assist the Fault Management Lead in refining SOPs, preventive, and predictive maintenance strategies. 8. Monitor the field execution of updated maintenance procedures to verify their effectiveness in reducing equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

• Academic Attainment: College Graduate Degree/Course: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering) Licensure/Certifications: PRC Licensed Engineer (ECE, EE, ME) preferred (Railway Engineers exempt if covered by technical equivalent); Philippine Railway Institute (PRI) Fundamental and Systems Training Certification (Preferred)
• Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 years of overall experience in technical maintenance, system fault analysis, or OCC environment.
• Previous Positions Held: Maintenance Engineer, OCC Controller, Technical Support Engineer, Systems Engineer.
• Preferred Industry: Railway Operations, Industrial Automation, Manufacturing, Airport Infrastructure, or High-Availability Utilities.
