The Role
As aMainframe Systems Specialist, you will provide advanced programming and subsystem support for mainframe operating systems and DBDC environments. This role is critical to ensuring system stability, compliance, and optimization acrosszOS,zVM, andzLinuxplatforms. You will lead root cause analysis (RCA) discussions, drive automation initiatives, and mentor junior team members while collaborating with global teams tomaintainbusiness continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee administration and optimization of mainframe systems (zOS,zVM,zLinux) following best practices.
Ensure system availability, patch compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Monitor and control systems from the main console, proactivelyidentifyingrisks and improvement opportunities.
Plan, execute, and review batch operations, driving automation and efficiency.
Lead lifecycle management of media, including migration, archival, and secure disposal.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support disaster recovery and business continuity.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Participate in functional program planning and influence decisions across departments.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years in mainframe operations or media management, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
Deepexpertisein mainframe environments (zOS,zVM,zLinux) and media lifecycle management.
Proventrack recordin process improvements, automation, and compliance initiatives.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Englishproficiency: Intermediate to advanced (requiredfor global communication and documentation).
Preferred Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications in ITIL, mainframe technologies, or media management.
Experience with VTS IBM.
