The Role
As Mainframe Systems Administrator (z/OS, z/VM) at Kyndryl, you'll manage and optimize critical mainframe operating systems, ensuring high system availability, performance, and compliance. In this role, you support day‑to‑day technology operations that are essential to reliable business services.
You are responsible for monitoring system health, coordinating patching activities, resolving incidents, and working closely with cross‑functional teams to maintain stable and compliant mainframe environments. Your contributions help ensure operational continuity and adherence to enterprise standards at Kyndryl.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure availability and stability of mainframe systems through proactive monitoring and incident resolution.
Administer and optimize z/OS and z/VM environments to support business operations.
Maintain patch compliance and coordinate system updates to minimize operational impact.
Use management tools to analyze performance issues and resolve system incidents.
Document system changes and maintain accurate records to support audits and compliance requirements.

Required Skills and Experience
3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting z/OS and z/VM systems in mainframe environments.
Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting z/OS and z/VM operating systems.
Experience using mainframe management tools for monitoring, analysis, and incident resolution.
Familiarity with patch management, incident response, and compliance processes.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in enterprise system environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation, incident reporting, and collaboration with global teams.
Experience supporting system availability initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
Exposure to audit‑driven or compliance‑focused IT operations.
Experience contributing to process improvements that enhance system performance or reliability.
