Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating, setting up, and monitoring production machines to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Responsible for performing in-process and final inspections to verify product quality against specifications and standards.
- Responsible for identifying, documenting, and reporting defects or non-conformities during production.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
- Responsible for routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Lead and manage machine operations within assigned workstation to meet production targets and quality requirements.
- Lead and manage adherence to safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or its equivalents with at least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or machine operation (functional skills). (Alternatively, a technical/vocational diploma with equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.)
Skills
- Leadership capabilities to manage a small team or coordinate effectively with cross-functional personnel.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate inspections and measurements.
- Basic knowledge of quality tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. to achieve production and quality goals.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Working Conditions
- This role is 100% onsite in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and handling materials.
- May involve exposure to noise, heat, or moving mechanical parts while following safety protocols.
