Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up polishing machines, including loading lenses, pads, and polishing compounds.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and cycle time based on production requirements.
- Inspect lenses for surface defects, scratches, power/irregularities, or finishing issues.
- Use measuring instruments to verify specifications.
- Perform in-process quality checks to ensure compliance with optical standards.
- Record production output, machine performance, and quality results accurately.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area to prevent contamination.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures at all times.
- Coordinate with QA and production supervisors regarding any non-conforming products.
Education & Experience
- High School graduate or vocational/technical course graduate
- With at least 1 year of relevant work experience in manufacturing or production environment.
Skills
- Ability to operate and monitor polishing machinery.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving for machine faults and errors.
- Knowledge of machine setup, calibration, and adjustment procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment components.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and inspection tools.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Awareness of hazard identification and risk prevention.
- Ability to maintain consistent production output and meet targets.
- Experience in routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Good documentation and record-keeping of production data.
- Strong attention to detail and focus.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to process changes and production demands.
- Time management and accountability.
Working Conditions
- This position requires 100% on-site work at the manufacturing facility.
- Work is performed in a production and/or cleanroom environment, as required by the process.
- Requires extended periods of manual, repetitive hand work and close visual focus.
- May involve sitting or standing for long periods depending on process requirements.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, or eye protection may be required.
- Work schedule may include shift work, overtime, weekends, or holidays based on production needs.
- Must comply with all safety, quality, and cleanliness standards within the facility.
