Job Summary
Prepare detailed mechanical system designs and lead site coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery. Manage resources, liaise with authorities, and resolve technical issues to support successful construction outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed designs and engineering plans for mechanical systems to meet project specifications.
- Lead day-to-day coordination and management of all site works, including inspection, testing, and commissioning.
- Distribute instructions from construction managers to subcontractors and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Plan and control resources, including materials, tools, and equipment, to optimize site operations.
- Manage project costs, timelines, and manpower resources to maintain efficient progress.
- Liaise with appointed Mechanical and Electrical Professional Engineers for submissions to authorities.
- Attend site progress meetings and address technical issues, reporting updates to the Construction Manager.
- Coordinate with authorities for plan approvals and site inspections, preparing and vetting drawings for submission.
- Serve as the primary contact for Civil and SWC representatives on site to facilitate collaboration.
- Monitor and update daily site progress reports to track project status.
- Analyze complex problems by reviewing relevant information, developing options, and implementing effective solutions.
- Apply logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches to technical challenges.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support project success.
Required competencies and certifications
- Experience working on LTA projects or with similar government authorities.
- Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience post-tertiary education, including at least three (3) years in commercial mixed development projects of comparable size and complexity.
