About the Role
Reality Marble is a holding company that acquires media assets, agencies, and opportunistically, other small and medium-sized businesses.
We are looking to hire an M&A / Business Development Associate to help us source, review, and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities. The role combines deal sourcing, financial review, business analysis, and diligence support.
The Associate will review opportunities from business brokers, marketplaces, intermediaries, and direct outreach to business owners. This includes both marketed deals and off-market companies that may not be actively for sale but could be relevant acquisition targets.
The ideal candidate has a strong finance or accounting foundation, good commercial judgment, and the ability to quickly understand small and medium-sized businesses. Prior experience in Big 4 audit, transaction advisory, financial due diligence, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, search funds, corporate development, or M&A advisory is highly preferred.
This is not a pure lead generation or sales role. While sourcing, outreach, and broker communication are important parts of the job, the main focus is helping the team identify and assess acquisition opportunities thoughtfully and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Review acquisition opportunities from brokers, marketplaces, intermediaries, and direct outreach
- Manage targeted outbound email campaigns to source off-market acquisition opportunities
- Analyze teasers, CIMs, financial packages, management accounts, and seller-provided materials
- Prepare deal summaries, screening notes, diligence questions, and recommendation memos
- Assess financial performance, revenue quality, customer concentration, recurring revenue, margins, key-person risk, and other potential red flags
- Support valuation analysis, including EBITDA adjustments, normalized earnings, and preliminary multiple-based valuation
- Coordinate with brokers, sellers, business owners, and intermediaries to request information and manage follow-ups
- Maintain accurate records of deal status, pipeline activity, outreach activity, open questions, and next steps
Qualifications
Required
- Strong finance, accounting, or business analysis background
- Experience reviewing financial statements, management accounts, or business performance data
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Strong written English communication skills
- Good commercial judgment and ability to identify key business risks
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities independently
- Comfortable communicating professionally with business owners, brokers, and senior contacts
Preferred
- Experience at a Big 4 firm, especially audit, transaction advisory, financial due diligence, corporate finance, or deals advisory
- Prior experience in M&A, private equity, search funds, corporate development, investment banking, business brokerage, or small business acquisitions
- Experience reviewing CIMs, teasers, QoE reports, data rooms, financial models, valuation analyses, or diligence materials
- Familiarity with seller financing, earnouts, working capital, EBITDA adjustments, and off-market deal sourcing
- Experience with outbound email campaigns, CRMs, email verification tools, LinkedIn, or other sourcing tools
- Experience with agencies, media assets, ecommerce, SaaS, or other service businesses
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate works well independently, is naturally curious, and genuinely enjoys hunting down interesting acquisition opportunities. You may be a strong fit if you have a finance or accounting background, want hands-on exposure to M&A, and can review a deal package quickly to identify what matters. You should be comfortable working with messy financials, asking the right follow-up questions, spotting red flags, and writing clear deal summaries.
The right candidate should also be organized, resourceful, and comfortable communicating with brokers, sellers, business owners, and intermediaries. This role is best suited for someone who can combine practical business judgment with disciplined follow-through across deal review, outreach, and pipeline management.
