Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor – Local Sales is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end logistics operations supporting local sales activities. The role ensures efficient coordination across supply chain, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to achieve reliable, cost-effective, and timely delivery performance. It also drives process discipline, cost optimization, and continuous improvement across logistics operations in alignment with business requirements and service standards.

Key Objectives:

  • Establish a structured and reliable replenishment planning cycle based on prevailing demand.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between production, warehousing, transportation, and sales to support timely order fulfillment.
  • Improve inventory accuracy and control through disciplined warehouse management and cycle count implementation.
  • Optimize transportation and distribution processes to achieve cost efficiency, scalability, and service reliability.
  • Drive operational discipline by reducing ad hoc activities and enforcing standardized logistics processes.
  • Continuously improve logistics performance through data-driven decision-making and process enhancements.
  • Support business growth by ensuring a scalable and efficient logistics network aligned with demand requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supply Chain Management

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the flow of goods and materials to ensure an efficient and cost-effective supply chain.

• Align logistics execution with production planning and sales requirements.

• Ensure seamless coordination across internal stakeholders to support timely order fulfillment.

2. Transportation & Distribution (Fleet Management)

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including movement to and from 3rd party warehouses.

• Manage transportation providers and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

• Ensure timely delivery performance to customers and distribution partners.

• Evaluate and optimize transport providers based on cost, reliability, and scalability.

3. Warehousing & Inventory Management

• Supervise 3rd party warehouse operations to ensure proper handling, storage, and dispatch of goods.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure strong inventory control practices.

• Monitor stock levels and adjust replenishment planning based on sales performance to mitigate potential out of stock or overstock situation.

• Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures, safety, and operational standards.

4. Cost Optimization

• Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.

• Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising service quality.

• Support continuous improvement in total logistics cost management.

5. Customer & Supplier Coordination

• Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Production, Planning, Finance) to align logistics operations with business needs.

• Coordinate with external logistics providers and warehouse partners to ensure service compliance.

• Support resolution of logistics-related issues impacting customer service and delivery.

6. Process Improvement

• Review and improve logistics processes to eliminate inefficiencies.

• Implement standard operating procedures and best practices.

• Drive adoption of automation tools and productivity improvements.

7. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Establish a third-party logistics performance management process to serve as basis for contract renewals, alternatives, and improve overall logistics service level performance.

• Monitor key logistics KPIs (delivery performance, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency).

• Prepare regular operational and performance reports for management.

• Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• On-time dispatch and delivery (OTIF)

• Loading schedule adherence (plan vs. actual)

• Transportation cost efficiency (total landed cost)

• Vendor performance (service reliability, turnaround time)

• Inventory accuracy and variance resolution

• Cycle count compliance

• Reduction of revenue loss due to aging and expired inventory

• Reduction in unplanned loading activities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

• At least 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, and/or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, transportation systems, and warehouse management.

• Demonstrated ability in data analysis, forecasting, and logistics planning.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software systems (e.g., WMS, ERP, or TMS).

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to logistics operations.
