Logistics Officer

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and monitor the transportation, delivery, and movement of materials, equipment, and supplies to support project requirements.
• Ensure all logistics activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Plan and arrange local and international shipments, including preparation of shipping and customs documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates on delivery status, potential delays, and logistics-related issues.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of project materials, equipment, and personnel as required.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Stores personnel to ensure material availability and proper stock control.
• Verify shipping documents, delivery notes, packing lists, and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in evaluating logistics service providers and freight contractors to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
• Identify and resolve logistics bottlenecks to minimize operational disruptions.
• Prepare logistics reports, shipment schedules, and performance metrics as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, transportation requirements, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and logistics activities.
• Report any workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, or regulatory violations to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all HSE regulations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations within the marine, dredging, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience in coordinating local and international shipments, customs clearance, and freight forwarding activities.
• Good knowledge of logistics planning, inventory control, and transportation management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the dredging and marine industry is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
