Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end global supply chain operations, with a particular emphasis on port clearance and international shipping compliance. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of logistics planning, execution, and performance management, ensuring goods are transported efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations. This role requires proven leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Logistics Management
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to support business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and monitoring of international shipments from origin to final delivery.
- Ensure cost-effective transportation solutions without compromising service quality.
Port Clearance Oversight
- Direct and manage port clearance operations, ensuring timely submission of import/export documentation (Bill of Lading, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, port authorities, and relevant government agencies to expedite clearance.
- Ensure all processes comply with local and international customs requirements.
Customs Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor and ensure adherence to international trade regulations, customs laws, and safety standards.
- Stay informed on changes to customs and trade regulations, updating internal policies accordingly.
- Conduct risk assessments and establish contingency plans to address potential delays or disruptions.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
- Manage performance reviews of logistics partners to ensure high service levels.
- Foster collaboration across departments to align logistics operations with company goals.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Work closely with warehouse teams to manage inventory flow, storage optimization, and timely dispatch.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to improve tracking accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs documents, and operational metrics.
- Prepare regular performance, cost, and shipment status reports for management review.
- Identify bottlenecks in logistics processes and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor logistics staff to ensure efficient operations and professional growth.
- Set performance targets, conduct evaluations, and implement development plans.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics management, with strong expertise in port clearance and customs procedures.
- Proven leadership experience managing logistics teams and third-party providers.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, trade compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
