Job / Role Summary
The Logistics Lead Supervisor is responsible for supporting end-to-end logistics operations by ensuring the efficient planning, execution, and control of inbound and outbound shipments. The role ensures compliance with local and international trade regulations while optimizing logistics costs, delivery performance, and inventory flow to meet manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Logistics Operations Management
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including import/export activities, local deliveries, and warehouse coordination.
- Ensure the timely movement of materials, components, and finished goods.
- Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
2. Import / Export & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Customs regulations, PEZA requirements (where applicable), and international trade laws.
- Review shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), and permits.
- Manage import/export permits and regulatory licenses.
- Handle customs clearance issues and support compliance audits.
3. Cost & Performance Optimization
- Monitor logistics costs, including freight, duties, storage, and brokerage fees.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Track and report logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, lead time, cost efficiency, and service levels.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Planning, Production, and Customer Service teams.
- Align logistics activities with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Liaise with global counterparts to support international shipments.
5. Team Supervision
- Assist in supervising logistics coordinators and team members.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
6. Systems & Reporting
- Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to monitor shipments and inventory movements.
- Prepare reports on shipment performance, logistics delays, and cost analysis.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and documentation.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Lead or support logistics process improvement initiatives.
- Implement best practices to improve operational efficiency and reduce cycle time.
- Participate in internal, external, ISO, and regulatory compliance audits.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or related field
Experience
- 5–8 years experience in logistics, supply chain, or import/export operations
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Experience in manufacturing / semiconductor / electronics environment is highly preferred
- Strong background in international shipping and customs compliance (Philippines)
Other Requirements
- Willing to work on-site in Calamba, Laguna.
- Flexible to render extended working hours when required to support shipment schedules.
- Experience working with multinational organizations or global logistics operations is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have)
- Licensed Customs Broker is a strong advantage.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or Process Improvement certification.
- Experience working in a PEZA-registered company.
- Exposure to audit and regulatory compliance environments.
