POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our business. The successful candidate will support the end-to-end management of inbound shipments into the UK and EU, as well as assist with intercompany transfers to international locations. This role is critical to ensure smooth, compliant, and cost-effective logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in logistics or operations, gained either with a freight forwarder, logistics provider, or within an import- or export-focused business.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inbound Logistics & Freight Coordination
- Handle inbound logistics processes across the UK and EU.
- Coordinate shipments via sea freight, air freight, and road transport to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
- Book shipments and monitor progress from origin through to final delivery.
- Provide regular updates on shipment status and proactively resolve delays or issues.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and issue customs clearance instructions to customs brokers in the UK and EU.
- Handle import and export documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and related paperwork.
System Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal operating system.
- Support reporting on inbound shipments, costs, and operational performance.
Warehouse & 3PL Coordination
- Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries to warehouses and support inventory receipt processes.
Internal & External Communication
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Provide clear, timely updates and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Proven experience in logistics operations, gained within an importing/exporting company, freight forwarder, or similar logistics environment.
Understanding of inbound shipping processes, documentation, and customs requirements, with a working knowledge of customs regulations.
Previous experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and 3PL warehouse providers.
Ability to manage inbound logistics operations independently during UK business hours.
High attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must be located in the Philippines.
40 Hours per Week (Monday - Friday)
