Logistics Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialists support the Procure-to-Pay function within a fast-moving transportation and logistics environment. This role will help ensure accurate, timely processing of vendor and carrier invoices and payments. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the position partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain service reliability and clean and reliable financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and validate invoices from carriers and vendors, ensuring accuracy in rates, accessorials, freight charges, and contract alignment.

• Review invoices for proper approvals and compliance with company policies

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Claims, Compliance, and Operations—to resolve carrier issues, support service performance, and maintain smooth freight and logistics workflows.

• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries

• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in Accounts Payables in transportation, logistics, or similar accounting role

• Strong understanding of freight billing, accessorial charges, and carrier compliance

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Familiarity with ERP systems, TMS platforms, and Excel

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.

• Experience in a high-volume AP environment

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position, with occasional extended hours depending on deadlines
