The Role

As Market & Liquidity Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing liquidity and market risk frameworks, delivering actionable insights to senior stakeholders, and ensuring the organisation remains well-positioned to meet its strategic objectives under a range of market scenarios.
You will work closely with treasury, finance, risk, and business teams to support decision-making through robust analysis, meaningful challenge, and a deep understanding of balance sheet dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage liquidity risk across the institution, ensuring adherence to internal risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain liquidity risk methodologies, monitoring tools, and reporting frameworks.
- Lead liquidity forecasting, stress testing, scenario analysis, and contingency funding assessments.
- Assess and monitor market risk exposures, including interest rate risk and related balance sheet risks.
- Provide analytical support and recommendations on funding strategies, asset-liability management, and balance sheet optimisation initiatives.
- Prepare risk assessments, management reporting, and presentations for senior leadership and governance committees.
- Identify emerging market developments and evaluate their potential impact on liquidity, funding, and risk positions.
- Partner with stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Risk, and other functions to strengthen risk management practices and support informed decision-making.
- Drive improvements in risk measurement, data governance, reporting capabilities, and control environments.
- Contribute to the continued development of risk frameworks, policies, and governance standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in treasury, market risk, liquidity risk, asset-liability management, or a related banking function.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, liquidity management, balance sheet risk, and regulatory requirements within the banking sector.
- Experience conducting stress testing, forecasting, and quantitative analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CFA, FRM, PRM, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting asset-liability management and treasury decision-making.
- Familiarity with risk systems, financial modelling tools, and large-scale data analysis.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing frameworks, controls, governance processes, or reporting capabilities.
- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.
