Linux, File server, backup Admin

We are seeking a skilled Linux, File Server, and Backup Administrator to join our IT team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux servers, ensuring data integrity through effective backup solutions, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Manage and maintain Linux servers and file systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and monitor backup solutions to secure data integrity and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server and file system issues in a timely manner.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain security and performance.
• Document server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support application deployments and system integrations.
• Conduct regular audits of systems and backups to ensure compliance with company policies.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-8 years of experience in Linux server administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Experience with file server management, including NFS, SMB/CIFS.
• Proficiency in backup technologies and strategies (e.g., Veeam, Bacula, rsync).
• Familiarity with network protocols and services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, FTP).
• Understanding of system security principles and best practices.
• Ability to write and maintain scripts for automation (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
