Job Description

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team to take charge of Lifestyle Sub-Committee.

The Assistant Manager will lead the department in the publicity needs of the Club internally and externally. Content and events developed by the department is supervised by the General Manager. Material produced is vetted by the General Manager, who acts as the Club's media liaison. The Manager also works closely with the GCB/Sports, Sub-Committees.

Job Responsibilities

1) Formulate and implement Department's plan, goals and strategies in line with corporate objectives.

2) Lead and develops Lifestyle members events organized by the department.

3) Supervise and oversee management of all Lifestyle sections, facilities and activities.

4) Supervises and develops the content of printed and online media, including the Plasma screen, SRC website, and e-news bulletins, event posters, working closely with marketing department in relations to the publicity of the events.

5) Attend section meetings on behalf of the Club

6) Work actively with Lifestyle Committee Chairman and Convenors in achieving excellence of the Club.

7) Present regular department MC reports, variance reports, events calendar to update on Lifestyle activities

8) Forecasts annual budget for department.

9) Organizes event calendar for the department.

10) Manage duty roster for the department.

11) Does performance appraisals for all department staff.

12) Develops, implements, and adheres to Lifestyle budget.

13) Manage Teams and/or Departments

14) Communicate common goals,direction and accountability among staff

15) Develop staff by coaching, mentoring and engaging career discussions

. Exhibit effective performance management practices within department in accordance with organizational policies and procedures

. Monitor budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing of the various departments, interview new staff

. Instil discipline and provide training for staff

. Handling all staffing responsibilities, including hiring and training. Review teams learning and career development initiatives to align organisation's learning agenda

. Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance

16) Others

. Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace.

. Not engage in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger yourself or others working around you.

. Use personal protective equipment provided to you to ensure your safety while working. You must not tamper with or misuse the equipment.

17) Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager/ Secretary.

Requirements: -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications or Sports Management related field
  • 5-10 years in Sports Events Management (Club)
  • Good knowledge of different business functions
  • Proven record of managing complex budgets successfully
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal and decision-making skills
  • Must be polished and articulate, and use these skills to manage members relationships.
  • Experienced working with staff on all levels
  • Ability to work unpredictable hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Continuously focus on improving customer satisfaction to create customer loyalty and deliver a positive event experience
