Job Overview
ConnectOS is currently hiring on behalf of a fast-growing US-based insurtech company that is transforming the life insurance industry through technology, data science, and predictive analytics.
The company is focused on making life insurance faster, more accessible, and easier for customers, using technology to simplify what has traditionally been a lengthy underwriting and application process.
As the business continues to scale, ConnectOS is looking for talented professionals to join its Life Underwriting team and contribute to a modern, technology-driven insurance environment.
- Life Underwriter Responsible for evaluating life insurance applications and assessing risk based on medical, non-medical, occupational, and financial information. The role involves reviewing underwriting requirements, applying established guidelines, and making sound risk decisions.
- Senior Life Underwriter A more experienced underwriting role responsible for independently handling complex cases and making risk-selection decisions. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of medical, non-medical, and financial underwriting, with experience in both term and permanent life insurance.
- Senior Manager - Underwriting A hands-on underwriting leadership role combining case underwriting with team leadership. Approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to case underwriting, while the remaining responsibilities include mentoring and developing underwriters, quality management, training, workforce/headcount planning, and improving underwriting workflows.
The Senior Manager will also work on underwriting automation, quality assurance, workflow optimization, and testing of automated underwriting rules and processes.
Ideal Background
For the individual contributor roles, we're looking for candidates with strong life insurance underwriting and risk-selection experience, particularly across medical, non-medical, and financial considerations.
The Senior Life Underwriter profile calls for 5-7+ years of experience, with industry designations such as LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, or FALU considered an advantage.
For the Senior Manager role, we're looking for a proven underwriting leader who remains hands-on with case underwriting and has experience developing teams, improving quality and performance, and optimizing underwriting processes.
