Job Description

Job Summary:

The Head of Liability Products and Alternative Channels is responsible for the strategic management and performance of the bank's liability portfolioincluding savings, checking, and time depositsas well as alternative banking channels such as digital platforms, ATMs, and agency banking. The role also plays a critical part in supporting the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) management framework by designing liability-linked repayment solutions, driving customer rehabilitation strategies, and enabling digital collections through alternative channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Liability Product Management:

  • Develop and manage the bank's liability product suite to drive deposit growth, profitability, and customer retention.
  • Introduce value-adding features such as savings-linked rewards, auto-debit for loans, or bundled deposit-loan offerings.
  • Conduct regular market and performance analysis to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business goals.

Alternative Channels Development:

  • Lead innovation and optimization of alternative banking channels (digital, mobile, ATMs, agent networks, fintech partners) to increase accessibility and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure reliability, security, and customer-centric design across all channels.
  • Enable omnichannel integration for transactions, account management, and collections.

Support for NPL and Collections Strategy:

  • Design and manage liability-based repayment and restructuring solutions (e.g., auto-debit from savings accounts, dedicated repayment wallets, incentive-linked savings plans).
  • Develop digital channel strategies that support efficient and customer-friendly loan repayment (e.g., mobile payment links, QR codes, digital wallets, installment options).
  • Collaborate with Collections, Risk, and Legal teams to ensure repayment tools and product features comply with NPL regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP Circulars, Restructuring Guidelines).
  • Provide strategic input to customer rehabilitation programs and assist in converting delinquent accounts back to performing status.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Lead roadmap planning for liability and channel growth, with consideration for NPL recovery support.
  • Drive deposit mobilization campaigns, cross-sell initiatives, and financial inclusion efforts through both physical and digital channels.
  • Align product/channel innovations with the bank's broader financial health and asset quality goals.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Manage a high-performing team of product managers and channel strategists.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Collections, Risk, Operations, and IT to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Serve as the business representative in governance and steering committees involving deposit products and repayment tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or related master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 810 years of experience in banking, particularly in deposit product development, channel management, or collections strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of liability products, digital banking platforms, and NPL regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in both product and collections solutions, ideally in retail or consumer lending environments.
  • Proven leadership, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
