The Legal Officer is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the organization on corporate, commercial, labor, compliance, and regulatory matters. The role ensures that the company operates within applicable laws and regulations while protecting the company's legal and business interests.
Responsibilities
- Provides legal advice and guidance to management and various departments, on corporate and business matters;
- Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and manages contracts, agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents;
- Ensures company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies;
- Handles corporate housekeeping requirements, including the preparation and filing of regulatory documents and submissions;
- Manages corporate compliance requirements;
- Coordinates with government agencies and local government units;
- Handles labor and employment-related legal concerns;
- Assists in litigation management and coordinates with external legal counsels when necessary;
- Conducts legal research and provides recommendations on legal risk mitigation and compliance;
- Maintains and organizes corporate legal records and compliance documentation;
- Reviews and updates company policies and procedures, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor degree from a reputable institution
- Member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines
- Relevant experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and corporate housekeeping
* For the Jr. Legal Officer role: At least 2 years of relevant experience
*For the Sr. Legal Officer role: At least 6 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in SEC registration, corporate filings, and regulatory compliance processes
- Strong knowledge of Philippine corporate, labor, and commercial laws
