Role Overview
The Legal Manager will serve as the primary legal advisor to the organization, ensuring compliance with all corporate, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice across business units, particularly on matters involving corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and project transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents relevant to operations, procurement, and major projects.
- Lead legal due diligence for partnerships, investments, and project developments.
- Manage legal risks and ensure timely resolution of legal issues.
- Oversee corporate governance requirements and ensure compliance with statutory filings.
- Coordinate with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Conduct legal research, ensuring the company stays updated on laws affecting energy, utilities, infrastructure, and industrial operations.
- Provide guidance on permits, licensing, and regulatory matters crucial to operations within the power/energy sector.
- Mentor and supervise junior legal staff when applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB/JD); must be a member of the Philippine Bar.
- 8-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in power, energy, renewable energy, utilities, or industrial companies.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and corporate law.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
