DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Legal Advisory and Support: Provide legal advice on contracts, regulatory, governance and compliance
Compliance and Regulatory Management: Develop compliance programs, conduct audits, ensure adherence to laws
Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation, coordinate with external counsel, develop resolution strategies
Corporate Governance: Oversee corporate practices and maintain records
Risk Management: Identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, manage organizational risks
Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with stakeholders, represent the company at events
Competencies:
Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial law, regulatory frameworks, and industry-specific legal issues
Risk Management: Ability to identify and strategically mitigate legal risks
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to legal challenges
Communication: Ability to clearly convey complex legal information to various stakeholders
Stakeholder Management: Proficient in building relationships and managing expectations
Integrity and Ethics: High commitment to ethical practices and integrity
Adaptability: Capable of thriving in dynamic environments
Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute legal strategies that align with business objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or Juris Doctor)
Minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a law firm
Minimum of 1 year experience as in-house lawyer of a company
At least at the Senior Associate level (or equivalent) in a law/consulting firm.
Extensive experience in corporate/commercial law and regulatory compliance
Member in good standing of the Philippine Bar
Corporate Law and Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of corporate and commercial legal frameworks and compliance requirements, ensuring the company meets all legal obligations.
Insights into Legal Issues: Specific insights into legal matters pertinent to real estate, construction, information technology, telecommunications, data security, privacy laws and other laws that are relevant to the business.
Risk Management: Skills in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks that could impact the company.
Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts to protect the company's interests effectively.
Litigation Management: Skills in managing and overseeing litigation matters, including strategy development and negotiation.
