Legal Counsel

Brief Summary

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable legal professional to join our team as a Commercial Legal Counsel. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders while addressing a wide array of legal and commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to the contracts team, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment. Draft, analyze, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including processor agreements, NDAs, novation agreements, and guarantees. Collaborate with legal team members globally and engage with senior management on strategic projects, regulatory concerns, product development, and operational matters. Develop and advise on templates, policies, and procedures to meet new legal requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Law degree from a reputable university, with specializations in business law, financial services regulation, or international law preferred. Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience with a major law firm or in-house in the financial services industry or M&A. Comprehensive understanding of commercial, contractual, and corporate law. Familiarity with payments, financial services, or fintech is desirable. Experience with online businesses is an advantage. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to quickly absorb information and engage effectively with diverse teams. Creative problem-solving capabilities, with an aptitude for working on international cross-functional projects. Flexibility to collaborate with colleagues across different time zones. Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
