Job Description

The Legal Collection Officer is responsible for handling delinquent and endorsed accounts for legal action. The role ensures proper coordination with external legal counsel, monitoring of litigation processes, and execution of recovery strategies for accounts under legal collection

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor accounts endorsed for legal action
  • Coordinate with external lawyers, law firms, and legal agencies
  • Prepare, review, and endorse legal documents and case folders
  • Track status of litigation, demand letters, and court proceedings
  • Ensure timely filing and monitoring of legal actions on delinquent accounts
  • Liaise with internal teams (collections, remedial, credit) for case updates
  • Monitor recovery efforts from legal actions such as settlements and executions
  • Maintain accurate records of legal cases and account status updates
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures, company policies, and regulations
  • Prepare regular reports on legal portfolio status and recoveries

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Law, Business, or related field
  • 2–3 years experience in collections, legal collections, or credit recovery
  • Experience working with law firms or handling litigation accounts is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of legal processes related to debt recovery
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office and case tracking systems
