Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for managing the company's legal and compliance activities and ensuring that business operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and corporate requirements. Provides legal guidance to management, handles regulatory matters, and supports the organization in identifying and mitigating legal and compliance risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the company's legal and compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to management and different departments.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable Philippine laws, regulations, permits, and government requirements.
  • Review and prepare contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Manage legal cases, disputes, claims, and coordination with external legal counsel.
  • Conduct compliance assessments, audits, and investigations as needed.
  • Identify and assess legal and compliance risks and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Ensure proper implementation of the company's Code of Conduct, Ethics, Anti-Bribery, and other compliance policies.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external counsel when necessary.
  • Conduct compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of legal and compliance matters.
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations to management regarding legal and compliance risks.
  • Support internal, customer, and external audits related to legal and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with regional/global legal and compliance teams on company requirements and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bar passer / Licensed Lawyer is highly preferred.
  • At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, corporate governance, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or multinational company is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine laws, regulations, corporate compliance, contracts, and labor-related matters.
  • Experience in compliance risk assessment, investigations, audits, and policy development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively with management, employees, government agencies, external counsel, and global/regional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willing to work in a manufacturing/plant environment.
