Role Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to help their employees advance their skills and knowledge in a manufacturing environment. The goal will be to strengthen their operations by training, upskilling, and developing people from the plant floor to leadership levels.
The role requires a passion for helping people learn and grow, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with a diverse workforce. Candidates should have experience designing learning courses, developing practical skills programs for operational roles, and managing L&D budgets effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement learning strategies and programs aligned with manufacturing operations, safety, and quality objectives.
- Review individual and organizational development needs across production, engineering, and support functions.
- Deploy a variety of learning methods companywide, including coaching, job-shadowing, on-the-job training, and self-paced learning.
- Organize learning courses, workshops, toolbox talks, and hands-on training sessions suited to plant floor and office environments.
- Ensure compliance training is current and accurately tracked.
- Monitor the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to develop their team members through career pathing and skills progression.
- Develop and maintain competency frameworks and skills matrices for manufacturing roles.
- Oversee the L&D budget and negotiate contracts with training vendors and providers.
- Organize onboarding and training activities for new hires across plant and office roles.
- Collaboratively work with the rest of the HR team.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a dedicated L&D role — leading learning strategy and programs end-to-end, not just training delivery
- Experience designing and implementing L&D programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment
- Strong instructional design skills, including development of learning content and blended learning programs
- Proven facilitation and training delivery skills for diverse audiences, including frontline workers, shift supervisors, and managers
- Experience collaborating with managers on career pathing and team development
Preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field
- Certification in L&D is a plus
- Exposure to multi-shift manufacturing operations is a plus
- Bisaya speaking is an advantage
