The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager leads the organization's learning, capability-building, leadership development, and talent development agenda. The role is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide learning strategies that strengthen workforce capabilities, accelerate leadership readiness, and support business transformation.
The L&D Head partners closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and other HR Centers of Excellence to ensure employees and leaders have the skills and capabilities required to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Learning & Development Strategy
- Develop and execute the organization's learning and capability development strategy aligned with business priorities.
- Establish annual learning plans and capability-building roadmaps.
- Identify current and future skill requirements through workforce and capability assessments.
- Drive a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
2. Leadership Development
- Design and implement leadership development programs across all leadership levels.
- Build leadership pipelines through structured development frameworks.
- Develop succession readiness programs in partnership with Talent Management.
- Support executive, managerial, and emerging leader development initiatives.
3. Capability Building
- Lead enterprise-wide technical, functional, behavioral, and leadership capability programs.
- Develop competency-based learning frameworks and development pathways.
- Ensure learning solutions address business capability gaps and performance needs.
- Partner with business units to create targeted capability-building interventions.
4. Learning Program Management
- Oversee the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs.
- Ensure effective implementation of onboarding, professional development, leadership, compliance, and technical training programs.
- Manage external learning providers, facilitators, and training vendors.
- Establish learning governance, standards, and quality assurance processes.
5. Learning Technology & Digital Learning
- Lead the implementation and optimization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
- Expand the use of e-learning, virtual learning, microlearning, AI-enabled learning, and self-directed development solutions.
- Promote digital learning adoption across the organization.
6. Talent Development Integration
- Collaborate with Talent Management and HR Business Partners to align development initiatives with succession planning and career growth.
- Support high-potential talent programs and leadership acceleration initiatives.
- Drive individual development planning and career development frameworks.
7. Learning Analytics & Measurement
- Establish learning effectiveness measures and development KPIs.
- Monitor learning participation, completion, capability improvement, and business impact.
- Use data and insights to continuously improve learning programs and investments.
- Present capability and development reports to senior leadership.
8. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business leaders to identify capability priorities and learning needs.
- Advise leaders on workforce capability development strategies.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support learning objectives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
Experience
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Talent Development, or related HR functions.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role managing enterprise-wide learning programs.
- Proven experience designing leadership development, capability-building, and learning transformation initiatives.
- Experience implementing learning technologies and digital learning solutions is preferred.
