The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's learning, capability-building, leadership development, and talent development strategies aligned with the company's business objectives. The role ensures that employees across manufacturing operations, sales, supply chain, commercial, and corporate functions are equipped with the competencies, technical skills, and leadership capabilities necessary to drive operational excellence, productivity, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Learning Strategy and Organizational Development
- Develop and implement the company's annual learning and development strategy aligned with business goals and workforce requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) across all functions including manufacturing, operations, sales, logistics, finance, and support services.
- Build competency frameworks and career development programs for various organizational levels.
- Partner with business leaders to identify capability gaps and succession requirements.
- Support organizational transformation, culture-building, and change management initiatives.
2. Training and Capability Development
- Design, facilitate, and manage training programs including:
- Leadership Development
- Supervisory Skills Training
- Sales Capability Programs
- Technical and Manufacturing Skills Training
- Compliance and Safety Training
- Behavioral and Soft Skills Programs
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
- Develop learning pathways for high-potential employees and critical talent pools.
- Ensure learning interventions support productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
3. Leadership and Talent Development
- Create and implement leadership development frameworks for frontline leaders, supervisors, managers, and future executives.
- Manage succession planning and talent review processes in partnership with HR and business leaders.
- Identify high-potential employees and develop individual development plans (IDPs).
- Coach managers on performance development and employee engagement initiatives.
4. Learning Systems and Program Management
- Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
- Evaluate external training providers and manage vendor relationships.
- Monitor training budgets and ensure cost-effective learning solutions.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory government and regulatory training requirements.
5. Performance and Training Effectiveness
- Measure training effectiveness using KPIs, assessments, feedback, and post-training evaluations.
- Analyze learning metrics and provide reports to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for learning programs and delivery methods.
- Ensure training programs contribute to employee productivity, retention, engagement, and business performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Master's Degree or relevant certifications in Learning & Development, OD, or Training is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive HR or L&D experience, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries.
- Strong background in leadership development, training facilitation, and talent management.
- Experience handling both corporate and plant/manufacturing learning programs.
- Knowledge of competency-based development, succession planning, and adult learning principles.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
