Job Description

Job Summary

The Training and OD Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the conceptualization, development, and implementation of various interventions to support business strategy, address key business initiatives, and improve business performance through the effective management of change. These interventions combine people, processes, and culture to achieve and sustain industry-leading performance. This includes change management, competency development, organization design, leadership development, culture building, performance management, succession planning, career development, employee engagement, and other special projects.

About the opportunity

Project / Program Management

Diagnosis

  • Conduct People Management best practice research and benchmarking analysis
  • Use various data-gathering tools to assess the business environment, identify performance gaps, and identify opportunities to address these gaps in People Management
  • Collaborate with leadership and program sponsors to understand the business context
  • Analyze and consolidate data to determine appropriate interventions impacting the employees
  • Create feedback mechanisms to validate data results and generate commitment
  • Use various tools/systems needed to facilitate the implementation and monitoring of Organization Development initiatives and programs
  • Provide reports on the status of the Organization Development initiatives/metrics

Development

  • Collaborate with leadership and sponsors to design, develop, and customize solutions that best support the changing business environment and requirements
  • Develop the project work plan to describe the overall scope, the specific phases, tasks, and activities of the initiative
  • Design and develop employee engagement surveys and programs
  • Analyze exit interview data to identify engagement/retention gaps, recommend gap closure strategies, and recommend/identify processes for building engagement/retention
  • Collaborate with sponsors in developing employee engagement/retention programs

Implementation

  • Develop a communication plan to get the necessary buy-in from various stakeholders, inform them on project objectives/milestones, and sustain their interest in the project
  • Mobilize the support of key stakeholders/project members
  • Monitor the execution of the activities to ensure the timely generation of deliverables
  • Resolve issues and concerns
  • Administer the processes, procedures, reports, and other enabling tools necessary to operationalize the initiative effectively

Measurement / Evaluation

  • Measure the impact of programs and create overall measures of system effectiveness
  • Leverage findings to increase effectiveness and provide recommendations for change

People Management

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the team to ensure that departmental goals are carried out as planned.
  • Direct, train, motivate, and give feedback to the team to ensure that performance targets are met.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and opportunities for development to the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. A certification in OD/L&D or HR is a major plus.
  • With at least 5 years of professional experience in L&D and OD at the supervisory or managerial level
  • Willing to work onsite
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with, influence, and mobilize support from the leadership team
  • Proven ability to design and implement data-gathering tools to identify performance and engagement gaps.
  • Experience building end-to-end project work plans from diagnosis to execution
  • Ability to plan and execute comprehensive communication plans to secure stakeholder buy-in and sustain momentum for new company-wide initiatives
