Job Description

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of the organization's key people development platforms including PerformYard (Performance Management tool), Relias (LMS), and BigMarker (webinar platform), ensuring effective system utilization, data integrity, and a seamless user experience.

In this role, the individual provides technical, creative, and administrative support to various people development initiatives, including onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and job-related training programs.

This highly visible, customer-oriented role partners with stakeholders across the organization, proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, and supports the delivery of large-scale programs that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

People Development Platforms (PerformYard, Relias, BigMarker)

  • Serve as the primary administrator for assigned People Development Platform/s, and provide functional support across the other platforms and services provided by the People Development Team.
  • Managing platform configurations, user access, and system updates to support business requirements.
  • Creating and modifying performance management plans and learning structures
  • Troubleshooting system and user-related issues, including more complex or recurring concerns.
  • Monitoring and responding to requests, exercising judgment in prioritization and escalation as needed.
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of system data.
  • Provide timely, customer-focused support to end users, supervisors, and program leaders while identifying opportunities to improve system usability and efficiency.

Reporting and Process Improvement

  • Prepare customized and regularly scheduled reports and support the creation, maintenance, and distribution of training and performance-related reports for large-scale programs.
  • Take initiative in analyzing workflows, identifying trends or inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to streamline processes and enhance data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Content Development & Project Support
  • Support the Team Lead, Sr. Manager, and AVP, Talent Management in the development and execution of People Development initiatives, including marketing, content design, and tracking impact metrics.
  • Develop and manage smaller scale training project plans in collaboration with People Operations sub-functions.
  • Serve as a producer or moderator for live and virtual learning sessions using platforms such as BigMarker, ensuring smooth and effective delivery.

Communications & Culture

  • Create and edit internal communication materials, including employee newsletters, ensuring messaging is aligned with business objectives and audience needs.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the team's intranet page to provide accessible learning resources, onboarding tools, and updates on upcoming initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a collaborative and engaging workplace environment and support initiatives that strengthen organizational culture.

Education And/Or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in learning and development, employee engagement, human resources, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical proficiency (e.g., Zoom, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience in learning and performance platforms such as PerformYard, Relias, BigMarker, or similar tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while supporting a centralized team serving a large and diverse operational function.
