Role Summary
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to play a critical role in both technical
delivery and people leadership. This position is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys
remaining hands-on while also mentoring and guiding a small, high-performing
engineering team.
You will act as a bridge between product vision and technical execution, ensuring that
solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals. In a fast-moving
startup environment, adaptability, ownership, and strong technical judgment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Team Development (25%)
- Lead, mentor, and support a small team of software engineers (2–5 members)
- Promote best practices in software design, clean code, testing, and
documentation
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and technical guidance to grow team
capability
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture
Project & Delivery Management (20%)
- Lead software projects from planning through delivery
- Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and code review sessions
- Translate product requirements into clear technical tasks and specifications
- Ensure timelines, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met
Hands-On Software Development (50%)
- Actively contribute code across the stack, delivering high-impact features Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Contribute to frontend development to deliver intuitive, user-focused experiences
- Participate in architectural decisions and technical problem-solving
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and security best practices
Team & Operational Management (5%)
- Handle light people-management and HR-related responsibilities
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management as the team grows
- Collaborate closely with leadership to align engineering efforts with company goals
What You'll Bring
Experience & Leadership
- Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience
- At least 2 years of experience leading or managing a development team
- Proven experience working in startup or fast-paced, evolving environments
- Strong ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones
- Fluent professional English communication skills
Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript (mandatory)
- Experience with React, Hono, and/or Cloudflare's developer platform
- Solid experience designing, building, and integrating APIs
- Ability to participate in and lead the full software development lifecycle
- Practical experience applying agile methodologies with flexibility and judgment
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions)
