Role Summary

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to play a critical role in both technical

delivery and people leadership. This position is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys

remaining hands-on while also mentoring and guiding a small, high-performing

engineering team.

You will act as a bridge between product vision and technical execution, ensuring that

solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals. In a fast-moving

startup environment, adaptability, ownership, and strong technical judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Team Development (25%)
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of software engineers (2–5 members)
  • Promote best practices in software design, clean code, testing, and

documentation

  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and technical guidance to grow team

capability

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture

Project & Delivery Management (20%)

  • Lead software projects from planning through delivery
  • Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and code review sessions
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical tasks and specifications
  • Ensure timelines, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met

Hands-On Software Development (50%)

  • Actively contribute code across the stack, delivering high-impact features Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
  • Contribute to frontend development to deliver intuitive, user-focused experiences
  • Participate in architectural decisions and technical problem-solving
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and security best practices

Team & Operational Management (5%)

  • Handle light people-management and HR-related responsibilities
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management as the team grows
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to align engineering efforts with company goals

What You'll Bring

Experience & Leadership

  • Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience
  • At least 2 years of experience leading or managing a development team
  • Proven experience working in startup or fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Strong ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones
  • Fluent professional English communication skills

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript (mandatory)
  • Experience with React, Hono, and/or Cloudflare's developer platform
  • Solid experience designing, building, and integrating APIs
  • Ability to participate in and lead the full software development lifecycle
  • Practical experience applying agile methodologies with flexibility and judgment
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions)
