As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial Bank Technology Paymentsteam, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. In this role you will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy production-grade applications to solve various business use cases for the firm
• Provides guidance to the team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
• Sets overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
• Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
• Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
• Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members, prioritizing diverse representation.
• Works at the code level and manage technologists. Utilizes automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Applies advanced understanding of Software Development concepts such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Performance and Security.
• Leverages in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
• Proficiently manage all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Key technologiesJava Spring Boot, Containerization (Docker and Kubernetes), relational & no-Sql databases, & AWS cloud services.
• Proficient in a front end technologies React, NodeJS, and other Web frameworks.
• Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices

• Experience with caching solutions.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience in UNIX and scripting languages (Shell, Perl).
• Cloud Development Experience.
