Role Description The Lead Snowflake Data Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Manila. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions on Snowflake to support Rivermead's retail, e-commerce, and advisory operations. Typical day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing data pipelines, configuring and managing data warehouses, and implementing robust data models aligned with business requirements. The Lead Snowflake Data Engineer collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data needs, ensures data quality and reliability, and provides technical guidance to other data engineers. The role also involves performance tuning, monitoring data workflows, supporting analytics initiatives, and contributing to best practices in data governance and security.
Qualifications

  • Strong Data Engineering skills, including designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions, preferably with Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to design efficient, scalable schemas that support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, including developing, scheduling, and optimizing ETL workflows.
  • Applied experience in Data Analytics, including working with BI tools, SQL, and performance optimization to support insight generation and decision-making.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with a modern programming language such as Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
  • Previous experience in a lead or senior data engineering role, including mentoring team members and contributing to technical standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
