Lead Python Developer – Middle/Back Office (APAC Desk)

Location: Hong Kong or Singapore (Relocation provided if needed)

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to take on a lead role for one of the most critical middle and back office desks in APAC. This is a hands-on position where you will not only drive technical delivery but also act as the face of the desk, representing APAC operations to global stakeholders.

This role combines leadership responsibility with deep technical execution. You will be expected to design and build robust systems, ensure operational excellence, and provide automation solutions that support the fund's global trading infrastructure. At the same time, you will remain hands-on in Python development, setting the technical standard for the desk while managing communication across regions.

As the lead engineer in APAC, you will hold significant responsibility and visibility, working directly with senior management and stakeholders worldwide. This is an opportunity to shape the technical direction of a high-profile desk while maintaining close involvement in coding and system design.

Requirements:

• Exceptional mastery of Python, with proven ability in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Strong background in financial services, ideally with middle or back office systems exposure.
• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage global stakeholder relationships.
• Hands-on mindset: comfortable leading while still actively coding and problem-solving.
