• Undertakingpowersystemsstudies,includinggrid-connection,networkplanning,systemstrengthimpactassessmentandresearchanddevelopment
• Developingwide-areanetworkandindividualequipmentmodelsinarangeofsimulationtoolsandinparticularPSS®EandPSCAD/EMTDC
• Preparinggridconnectionapplicationdocumentsandtechnicalreports
• Interfacingwithawiderangeofclientsandotherindustryorganisations
• Developingtechnicalsolutionstocomplexnetworkandconnectionissues

WevaluethateachofourteammembersbringssomethingdifferenttoAurecon.Welookforpeoplewhohavehadabroadrangeofexperiencesthroughouttheircareerandcandemonstratehowtheyhaveworkedaspartofateamtobringideastolife.

Thisrolewillrequireanadequateunderstandingofelectricalengineeringandpowersystemstheoryrelatingtoelectricitytransmission,distributionandgeneration,andassociatedcontrolandprotectionprinciples.

Education/ExperienceandOtherSkills:

• ABachelor'sorMasterofElectricalEngineeringdegreeandaPhDdegreewillbefavourable
• Experienceinpowersystemmodellingtools,particularlywithPSCAD,PSS/E,andPowerFactory,willsupportyoursuccessinthisrole
• Siteandpracticalexperienceinarelevantareaarealsoaplusforthisrole,asisexperienceinpowersystemmodeldevelopment,coding,scriptingandautomation
• KnowledgeoftheAustralianNationalElectricityRuleandpastexperiencewithAustraliangridconnectionprojects
• Powersystemanalysisforutility-scalenetworksincludingsteadystateanddynamicsystemstudies
• ExperiencedworkingwithDigSILENTPowerFactory,PSCAD,PSS/E,andtheabilitytoguideandmentoryoungerteammembers
• ThoroughunderstandingofthegeneratorconnectionprocessinAustralia(Chapter5and5A)andtheobligationsofeachparty(NSPs,AEMO,Proponentetc)
• Knowledgeableinoneormoregeneratortechnologiessuchassynchronous(steam,hydro,gasetc)orasynchronous(solarPV,wind,BESSetc)
• Demonstratedsignificantpost-graduationexperienceforSeniorEngineersandLeadEngineer
