The Sentro ng Alternatibong Panlegal (SALIGAN), Inc. is a legal resource non-government organization in the Philippines dedicated to developmental legal work for marginalized, disadvantaged, and exploited sectors. Established in 1987, its mission is to promote legal empowerment and fair representation for basic sectors. SALIGAN believes in achieving justice and social change by working alongside the communities most in need. The organization operates nationwide with offices in Metro Manila, the Bicol region, and Mindanao.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Quezon City/Naga City for a dedicated Lawyer to support SALIGAN's mission. The role involves providing legal aid and representation to marginalized sectors, conducting research on relevant laws and policies, and drafting legal documents. The Lawyer will also be responsible for legal education and capacity-building activities to empower clients and communities, as well as engaging with stakeholders to advocate for social justice and legislative reforms.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work on-site and travel to remote areas as needed
• A valid law degree and admission to the Philippine Bar
• Dedication to social justice, equity, and the empowerment of marginalized sectors
