Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry department to ensure that high standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency are consistently met. This role involves supervising a team of laundry attendants, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth functioning of all laundry operations to meet the needs of Fili operations.
Supervision and Staff Management
Supervise and lead a team, ensuring that staff follow all procedures and maintain productivity.
Schedule staff shifts, ensuring proper coverage for peak and off-peak times.
Train new employees on laundry operations, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Handle employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure a positive work environment.
Laundry Operations
Oversee daily laundry activities, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing of linens, towels, and garments.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and resolve any quality-related issues.
Maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper usage, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting when necessary.
Monitor laundry supplies, reorder as needed and manage inventory.
Ensure safe handling of detergents, chemicals, and other laundry materials.
Quality Control
Inspect laundry items to ensure that they meet the cleanliness, appearance, and quality standards.
Ensure that all items are processed correctly according to fabric type and specific requirements.
Implement quality assurance checks to prevent damage or loss of items.
Health and Safety Compliance
Enforce safety regulations to prevent accidents or injuries within the laundry facility.
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of laundry areas.
Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in all workspaces.
Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including proper chemical storage and usage.
Customer Service and Communication
Maintain communication with other departments or clients to ensure timely service delivery.
Address customer complaints or concerns related to laundry services, ensuring timely resolutions.
Ensure that laundry services meet or exceed client expectations and service level agreements.
Administrative Duties
Prepare reports on laundry operations, including inventory levels, staff performance, and laundry volumes.
Monitor and report on labor costs, equipment repairs, and maintenance schedules.
Manage budgets and assist in cost-saving initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
Propose and implement improvements in laundry processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Stay updated on new laundry technologies and best practices to continuously improve the department.
Qualifications
Diploma/degree in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping, or related field preferred.
Training in laundry operations, textile care, or chemical handling is an advantage.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in laundry operations (hotel, resort, cruise, or hospital).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of laundry equipment, products, and industry best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the laundry industry.
