Responsible for sorting, processing, finishing, packing, and distributing hotel linens, uniforms, guest laundry, and other textile items while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. The position ensures that all laundry items are handled efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established hotel procedures.
Laundry Processing
Sort soiled linens, uniforms, and guest laundry according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements.
Inspect items for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or repair requirements.
Assist in loading and unloading washers and dryers when necessary.
Separate and handle delicate fabrics according to prescribed procedures.
Finishing and Presentation
Fold, stack, and organize clean linens according to hotel standards.
Press and finish uniforms, guest garments, and specialty items.
Pack and prepare guest laundry for delivery.
Ensure all finished items are free from stains, wrinkles, and damage.
Distribution and Inventory
Distribute clean linens and uniforms to designated departments.
Maintain proper stock levels in linen rooms and uniform rooms.
Assist in conducting linen and uniform inventories.
Report shortages, damages, and discrepancies to the supervisor.
Quality Control
Maintain established quality standards for all processed laundry items. Identify and report recurring issues related to stains, fabric damage, or linen losses.
Ensure proper handling of guest laundry to prevent loss or mix-ups.
Housekeeping Safety
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry work area. Follow all safety procedures regarding chemicals, equipment, and workplace hazards. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Comply with hotel policies, hygiene standards, and environmental practices.
Team Support
Assist colleagues during peak operational periods.
Participate in departmental training and meetings.
Perform other duties assigned by management related to laundry operations.
Qualifications
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred. Basic knowledge of garment care and fabric handling.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift laundry loads.
