JOB OVERVIEW:
The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for securing land and right-of-way requirements for solar, solar & BESS, hydro & transmission projects. Supports project development through negotiations, due diligence, permitting coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
MAJOR PROCESSES:
1. Land acquisition strategy development and execution for solar, PV + BESS, hydro and ROW projects
2. Site identification, land due diligence, and risk assessment
3. Negotiation and finalization of land lease, purchase, and easement agreements
4. Coordination, supervision, and performance management of external land brokers, agents, and
acquisition consultants
5. Right-of-way (ROW) acquisition and access management for transmission facilities
6. Facilitation and management of land reclassification and land-use conversion processes with
relevant national and local government agencies
7. Land-related permitting, approvals, and regulatory compliance
8. Stakeholder engagement and community relations management
9. Land acquisition scheduling, reporting, and risk mitigation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead end-to-end land acquisition activities for solar and ROW projects, from site sourcing through final documentation and turnover.
2. Coordinate with LGUs, DENR, DA, DAR, HLURB/DHSUD, and other regulatory bodies to secure land reclassification, land-use conversion, and zoning clearances as required for project development.
3. Prepare, review, and submit land-related applications, endorsements, and supporting technical documents.
4. Manage and direct external land brokers and agents, including scope definition, performance monitoring, and compliance with company policies.
5. Conduct land due diligence, including title verification, encumbrance checks, and risk assessments.
6. Lead negotiations with landowners and affected stakeholders to achieve commercially viable and legally compliant agreements.
7. Identify, assess, and mitigate land-related risks that may impact project schedules and approvals.
8. Maintain accurate land acquisition records, trackers, and management reports.
9. Support permitting, engineering, and construction teams by ensuring timely availability of land and ROW access.
10. Ensure adherence to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance controls.
QUALIFICATION GUIDE:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
LICENSURE: Registered Engineer (Preferred but not required)
EXPERIENCE:
• 5-7 years experience in land acquisition or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of land titling and permitting processes
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Willing to travel to project site
