Laboratory Facilities Engineer specializing in MEPF, including Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), is responsible for managing all aspects of these systems from design to implementation, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. Duties include:
- Design Coordination: Collaborating with laboratories and shops coordinators the requirements , to develop MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV designs using AutoCAD, ensuring they meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Schedule Management: Creating and managing schedules for MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV installations, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Overseeing subcontractors and vendors for MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV work, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensuring designs and installations comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations governing MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV systems.
- Quality Control: Implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs, installations, and documentation, including detailed annotations.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks related to MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV systems, proactively addressing issues to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Communication and Coordination: Facilitating communication among project stakeholders, to ensure alignment and resolve any conflicts or issues.
- Safety Oversight: Ensuring safety protocols are followed throughout the design and installation process, promoting a culture of safety among all subcontractors.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed documentation of design changes, installation progress, and project milestones, and providing regular reports to the top management.
- Commissioning and Handover: Overseeing the commissioning of MEPF, FDAS, and CCTV systems, conducting testing and inspections to ensure functionality and performance meet project requirements, and facilitating the handover to the custodians.
This role requires strong technical expertise in MEPF systems, FDAS, and CCTV, as well as excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills to successfully deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
