Job Description

About The Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to help our client's employees advance their skills and knowledge in a manufacturing environment. The goal will be to strengthen their operations by training, upskilling, and developing our people from the plant floor to leadership levels.

We expect the person to be passionate about helping people learn and grow, to have excellent communication skills, and to connect with a diverse workforce. Candidates should have experience designing learning courses, developing practical skills programs for operational roles, and managing L&D budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement learning strategies and programs aligned with manufacturing operations, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Review individual and organizational development needs across production, engineering, and support functions.
  • Deploy a variety of learning methods companywide, including coaching, job-shadowing, on-the-job training, and self-paced learning.
  • Organize learning courses, workshops, toolbox talks, and hands-on training sessions suited to plant floor and office environments.
  • Ensure compliance training is current and accurately tracked.
  • Monitor the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to develop their team members through career pathing and skills progression.
  • Develop and maintain competency frameworks and skills matrices for manufacturing roles.
  • Oversee the L&D budget and negotiate contracts with training vendors and providers.
  • Organize onboarding and training activities for new hires across plant and office roles.
  • Collaboratively work with the rest of the HR team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a dedicated L&D role — leading learning strategy and programs end-to-end, not just training delivery
  • Experience designing and implementing L&D programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment
  • Strong instructional design skills, including development of learning content and blended learning programs
  • Proven facilitation and training delivery skills for diverse audiences including frontline workers, shift supervisors, and managers
  • Experience collaborating with managers on career pathing and team development

Preferred

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field
  • Certification in L&D a plus
  • Exposure to multi-shift manufacturing operations a plus
  • Bisaya speaking is an advantage.
