Job Description

We are looking for hands-onKitchen Equipment Maintenance Technicians to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment and store facilities across our outlets. This is a hands-on, tools-in-hand technical role, not a supervisory or managerial position — the right person is someone who enjoys diagnosing problems on the ground, fixing them correctly the first time, and keeping stores running.

Priority attention goes to hot line equipment (fryers, griddles, burners), which directly drives sales generation, and cold storage/refrigeration equipment, where downtime is a food safety risk. The role requires the ability to travel across multiple outlets and work night shifts or on-call hours, since much of the work happens during off-peak or closed hours to avoid disrupting store operations. This position reports directly to the Facilities Engineer.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned kitchen equipment

— including Gas Full Vat Fryers, Electric Fryers, Gas Top Burners, Gas/Electric Griddles, Undercounter Chillers, 4-Door Chillers, Chest Freezers, Display Chillers, Microwaves, Rice Cookers, and similar equipment — following the schedule set by the Facilities Engineer.

• Inspect electrical, plumbing, gas, and mechanical components regularly to catch wear and tear before failure.

• Clean, calibrate, and service key parts (condenser coils, door gaskets, water filtration systems, heating elements, thermostats).

2. Diagnostics & Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, gas, and plumbing issues in kitchen equipment promptly and accurately.

• Perform safe, high-quality repairs using appropriate hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.

• Troubleshoot refrigeration units, including coolant leaks, compressor issues, and defrost cycles.

• Respond urgently to emergency repair requests, including outside regular hours, to minimize operational downtime.

3. Equipment Installation & Replacement Support

• Perform the uninstallation, safe disposal, installation, and commissioning of kitchen machinery and equipment as directed by the Facilities Engineer.

• Report the condition of old or malfunctioning equipment to the Facilities Engineer to support repair-vs-replace decisions.

• Follow manufacturer specifications and safety standards during installations.

4. Inventory & Documentation

• Maintain on-hand inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and supplies for fast turnaround on repairs, flagging low stock to the Facilities Engineer.

• Log service histories, repairs, parts used, and PM completion in the CMMS/maintenance tracker on the same day work is done.

• Coordinate with the Facilities Engineer when specialized repairs, warranty service, or inspections require an external vendor.

• Follow OSHA-aligned safety practices, local health codes, gas safety standards, and proper refrigerant handling in all work.

Other duties and tasks, as may be assigned.
