Job Description

The Key Account Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth and profitability of the Watsons business by ensuring excellent account execution, sales analysis, merchandising compliance, inventory management, promotional implementation, and customer relationship management.

The position serves as the primary day-to-day coordinator between Watsons and the company's internal departments to ensure flawless execution of commercial plans that drive sustainable sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Account Management

  • Manage assigned Watsons categories and stores.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Watsons Buyers and Category Managers.
  • Ensure timely execution of agreed Joint Business Plans (JBP).
  • Assist the Key Account Manager during business reviews and negotiations.

2. Sales Performance Management

  • Monitor Sell-In and Sell-Out performance versus targets.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly sales trends.

3. Merchandising & Store Execution

  • Ensure excellent execution of Planograms
  • New Product Launches
  • Promotional Activities
  • Shelf Availability
  • Monitor Out-of-Stock (OOS) situations.
  • Coordinate with Trade Marketing and Merchandising Teams for immediate action.

4. Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory health.
  • Coordinate replenishment plans with Demand Planning.

5. Promotional Execution

Coordinate all promotional activities including:

  • Watsons Campaigns
  • Seasonal Promotions
  • Bundle Offers
  • New Product Launches
  • Price Promotions

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or any related four-year course.

Experience

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, or Modern Trade.
  • Experience handling Watsons, Mercury Drug, SM, Robinsons, or similar retail accounts is an advantage.
  • Experience in FMCG is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Charts, Data Analysis).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prepare sales presentations and business reviews.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of sales forecasting and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and business intelligence tools is an advantage.
