Job Description

A Key Account Specialist in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) snack food industry is responsible for managing relationships with major retail, convenience, and supermarket chains to drive sales growth, ensure product availability, and maximize brand visibility. This role focuses on daily coordination with key customers (POs, inventory) and implementing trade marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Account Management & Relationship Building: Maintain and nurture strong partnerships with category buyers and store managers of major retail chains.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets for the assigned snack portfolio.
  • Order Fulfillment & Logistics: Coordinate with internal logistics/supply chain to ensure timely delivery of products, reducing out-of-stock situations.
  • In-Store Execution & Merchandising: Ensure maximum share of shelf, proper display, and compliance with planograms. Implement First-In-First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Promotional Implementation: Execute trade marketing promotions, special displays, and new product launches within the accounts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze sell-in and sell-out data, inventory levels, and product movement (fast/slow movers).
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activities, such as pricing changes and promotions, to maintain a competitive advantage.

Typical Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in FMCG sales or Key Account Management (especially Modern Trade/Supermarkets).
  • Snack Industry Knowledge: Experience in snack foods, confectionery, or fast-moving food products is highly preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
