What You Will Be Doing

The Junior Vetting Superintendent will supervise, control, and coordinate all vetting and ship clearance matters for a group of allocated ships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day to day running of the Stolt Tankers vetting system for his/her assigned fleet of vessels.
  • Assist SMT's with guidance in preparation for customer vetting inspections.
  • Maintain the Vetting database (SIRE/CDI/non-SIRE OCIMF/CDI/Q88).
  • Manage the owner's comments in response to vetting reports.
  • Follow up on close-out of deficiencies from vetting inspections and assist FMTs/SMTs with PSC Inspections close outs.
  • Assist the Vetting Manager with the preparation of training material for vetting bulletins, vetting and PSC inspections.
  • Any other tasks, projects or analysis as assigned by the Vetting Manager or the Senior Vetting Superintendent.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Has broad knowledge of shipping and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Has Chemical Tanker sailing experience (2nd Officer).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and inter-departmental collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and quick to learn specialized software.
