What You Will Be Doing
The
Junior Vetting Superintendent will supervise, control, and coordinate all vetting and ship clearance matters for a group of allocated ships.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day to day running of the Stolt Tankers vetting system for his/her assigned fleet of vessels.
- Assist SMT's with guidance in preparation for customer vetting inspections.
- Maintain the Vetting database (SIRE/CDI/non-SIRE OCIMF/CDI/Q88).
- Manage the owner's comments in response to vetting reports.
- Follow up on close-out of deficiencies from vetting inspections and assist FMTs/SMTs with PSC Inspections close outs.
- Assist the Vetting Manager with the preparation of training material for vetting bulletins, vetting and PSC inspections.
- Any other tasks, projects or analysis as assigned by the Vetting Manager or the Senior Vetting Superintendent.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of professional work experience.
- Has broad knowledge of shipping and environmental laws and regulations.
- Has Chemical Tanker sailing experience (2nd Officer).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent multitasking, organizational, and inter-departmental collaboration skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and quick to learn specialized software.
