Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Unix/Linux System Administrator to join our team supporting a US-based finance/insurance client. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in Unix/Linux administration and a strong desire to grow in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. This role involves system monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain Unix/Linux-based servers to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Assist in system administration tasks, including user account management, file system maintenance, and security configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Support patch management, system updates, and backup processes.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and IT teams to optimize system performance and security.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry security standards.
  • Provide support during mid or night shifts to align with US business hours.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor&aposs Degree in Information Technology, or any related course.
  • At least 6 months of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
  • Basic understanding of Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and command-line tools.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, etc.).
  • Basic experience with automation tools (Ansible, Bash, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Good communication skills, with experience in supporting US-based clients preferred.
