Junior System Engineer

Role Title: Junior Systems Engineer (1-2 Years Experience)

Location: Makati City - Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Systems Engineer to help build, maintain, and secure our core IT infrastructure. In this entry-to-mid-level role, you will collaborate with our team to ensure optimal system performance, high availability, and proactive security while gaining hands-on experience with modern tech stacks. This position operates on a hybrid setup (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain complex IT systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and design customized solutions.
• Install and configure servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Monitor system performance and security, implementing proactive measures.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions.
• Assist in the resolution of technical issues and provide timely support to clients.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of practical experience in a System Engineer or similar IT support role.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• OS Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (specifically CentOS and Ubuntu).
• Web Application Servers: Understanding of application servers such as NGINX and Tomcat.
• Core Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and a team-player mindset.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA (Network+, Security+) or AWS Cloud Foundations.
• Hands-on familiarity with tools like Datadog, HubSpot, or JIRA.
