About the Role
MCW Restaurant Group is launching a new caf and bakery concept that celebrates modern cafe bakery food and crafted desserts in a warm, design-forward setting.
We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef who will play a key leadership role in bringing this concept to life ensuring exceptional food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and a creative, collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure smooth service flow across all stations.
- Maintain consistent food quality, flavor, and presentation that align with brand standards.
- Supervise prep, production, and line execution to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate purchasing and costing.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team members to uphold performance and professionalism.
- Support the Head Chef in menu testing, recipe standardization, and new product development.
- Participate in administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Culinary Arts graduate or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
- Minimum 23 years of experience as a CDP, Junior Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a calm, organized approach under pressure.
- Knowledge in both hot kitchen and dessert preparation is an advantage.
- Experience in italian, caf or casual dining environments preferred.
- Passion for creating modern comfort food that connects emotionally with guests.
