Junior Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you'll join our team with hands-on experience building full-stack applications.

What You'll Own

• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Python, Node.js, and React.js
• Build and integrate REST APIs and backend services
• Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Develop backend functionality using Python and/or Node.js
• Design, write, and optimize SQL queries
• Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
• Perform database CRUD operations, data validation, and basic database optimization
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and databases
• Troubleshoot application issues; participate in debugging and root-cause analysis
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code
• Perform unit testing and participate in code reviews
• Work with Git-based source control, following development standards
• Collaborate with senior developers to understand requirements and implement solutions
• Participate in deployment, application support, and production issue resolution
• Prepare technical documentation for developed features and processes
• Use AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) responsibly — reviewing, testing, and understanding generated code before submitting
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and development practices

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
• 2-3 years of work experience building web applications
• Working knowledge of Python and/or Node.js for backend development
• Working knowledge of React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Understanding of relational databases; ability to write and read SQL queries; exposure to PostgreSQL
• Basic familiarity with NoSQL concepts and MongoDB
• Understanding of REST API design, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON
• Familiarity with Git and standard branching/pull request workflows
• Awareness of basic web security practices (input validation, authentication basics, avoiding common OWASP issues)
• Ability to debug systematically and communicate findings clearly
• Strong willingness to learn, take feedback, and work collaboratively in a team

Strongly Preferred

• TypeScript (frontend or backend)
• Exposure to a Python web framework (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) or Node.js framework (Express, NestJS)
• Familiarity with an ORM/query layer (SQLAlchemy, Prisma, Drizzle, or Mongoose)
• Experience writing automated tests (PyTest, Jest, Vitest, or Playwright)
• Basic exposure to Docker and containerized local development
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Interest in AI/LLM-enabled features — model APIs, structured outputs, basic RAG concepts
• Understanding of responsive design and web accessibility fundamentals (WCAG)
• Exposure to logging, monitoring, or application performance tools
• Open-source contributions, a public portfolio, or personal projects
